One Tooth Wonder
I was talking on the phone with my mom (grandma) earlier in the day, just saying how I was sure that E would be walking before he gets any teeth. At just over 8 months old, our little boy was still a toothless cutie. WAS is the operative word here. Later that evening after dinner, Marty was sitting on the couch studying and I was on the floor playing with the boy. E started chewing on my finger, pretty normal, and then not so normal. He gnawed down and a sharp little pain struck me; his first tooth broke through. I was so excited, all I could say was "TOOTH!" Marty looked up, slightly confused and asked what I had said, then immediately jumped off the couch and put his finger in E's mouth to feel it. We were both so happy and started telling E how good he is, probably a little overwhelming to him, but he didn't let it on because he fed off of our excitement, smiling and laughing.
The way we were jumping around and praising him, you'd have thought he won the Nobel Prize or something (some day... but we have to be more patient for that one). It's so funny how something so small, like a little tooth, can be so huge.
